Common Questions About Invisalign
How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners instead of braces to move your teeth into their proper position. Based on a customized treatment plan created by your dentist, your aligners are made for you at a special lab. You’ll wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, then move to the next set in the series. You’ll make occasional visits to our office for progress checks.

Is Invisalign painful?

Treatment with Invisalign is more comfortable than braces. Unlike traditional braces that use an archwire that must be tightened periodically, Invisalign’s teeth aligners gently move your teeth into their ideal location. You’ll progress through a series of aligners during your treatment, with each one slightly different from the one before. You won’t have to deal with the painful consequences of tightening any wires.

How long does Invisalign take?

In general, Invisalign treatment takes anywhere from six months to 18 months, with the majority of patients completing their care in six to 12 months. Your unique situation will determine the length of your care. After your dentist has completed a treatment plan, we can give you an accurate timeline for achieving your new smile.
