Gum Disease Treatment
In the early stages, gum disease is reversible with the proper care and treatment, including a deep cleaning at our office and diligent care at home. After your initial treatment, Dr. Davis may recommend that you visit every four months for periodontal care.
When Dr. Davis finds advanced gum disease, she may need to perform scaling and root planing, a special procedure that cleans deep below the gumline and smooths out the tooth roots to make it harder for plaque to stick. In more advanced stages, gum disease is not curable, but can be managed with routine periodontal maintenance visits to Artistic Family Dentistry and diligent oral hygiene at home.
